The Great Outdoors Waterpark
The Great Outdoors Waterpark is a voter-approved expansion of LaMont Does Outdoor Pool. It is located at 500 E South Boulder Rd, Lafayette, CO 80026. The new waterpark is set to open in May. What will be different is the cost. Adults will pay $10, youths will pay $7.50, and children under two will be free. Entrance fees will remain the same. Read on for details.
A property tax passed by Lafayette voters in 2014 will help fund renovations of the LaMont Does Memorial Park water park. A public survey, conducted by residents, will help determine the theme of the new water park. Without the tax, the pool would have been closed by 2016.
The City Council heard an update Monday on the LaMont Does Outdoor Pool project. The massive development is still on track to begin later this year but the cost has increased. It has also gone over budget, rising to about $5.2 million. LaMont Does' final outlook includes two new water slides, a catch pool, a leisure and fitness lap pool, interactive challenge-based water attractions, a new Colorado mountain-themed park entrance, an American with Disabilities Act-compliant bath house building, and an improved splash zone.
For little kids, The Great Outdoors Waterpark is the perfect place to splash around, and there are two play areas: the Dinosaur Gulch and the Mars Outpost. The Dinosaur Gulch is perfect for smaller kids up to 42 inches, while the Mars Outpost is for larger kids. Both are free to use, and each area is equipped with activities for children of all ages.
The Great Outdoors Waterpark Lafayette CO will continue to offer lap swimming and other family activities Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and water walking on Tuesdays and Thursdays from July 10 to Aug. 23. The Water Park offers special events throughout the year. Celebrate Father's Day with a special discount on Sunday, June 17. The LaMont Does outdoor pool in Lafayette, Colorado, will soon become a water park that will feature water slides and other play features. But it's not the only thing that needs to be fixed. The pool's structural integrity is in jeopardy. The pool's ramps are too steep and the concrete has cracks. The pool's operation system is also malfunctioning. Finally, there's a lack of parking. The pool will have a new name - The Great Outdoors Waterpark.

The park's owners have outlined plans to make LaMont Does' outdoor pool safer and more efficient. The plan includes adding two 30-foot-tall water slides, a new slide pool, a large ADA-compliant kiddie pool, and a new southwest entrance. The first phase of the project is estimated to cost $4 million. However, Lafayette officials stress that the renovation proposal is flexible and may not be necessary if the LaMont Does outdoor pool continues to attract enough seasonal visitors.
