Jay Hartman
Service Manager
Employee Spotlight
Jay first applied to be an account manager. I was excited about his depth of knowledge and communication skills, and I offered him the job on the spot. I knew he would make a better service manager, but we already had one of those.
We were short-staffed, so I asked Jay if he could start the next day. I saw that this surprised him a bit, but he said he would see me the next morning.
When he came in, I told him that I was too far behind to give him much of an orientation, but he could get started setting up his computer, and then we would connect a little later. Jay got logged into our ticketing system and started jumping in where he could. While he was not familiar with our processes, he immediately made an impact and started solving problems. I was impressed.
The service manager we had at the time was not up to the task, and I approached Jay within a couple of weeks to see if he would be up for a promotion. As with everything, he was game and has taken on the role with aplomb.
While he is not big on talking about himself, you can learn a bit more about Jay in the Q&A below.
Can you tell us a little about yourself and your journey into IT?
