Employee Spotlight
Hello,
Here at ViaTek, we feel it is important for our clients to know a little about the team providing support and we are thrilled to announce the newest addition to our tech support team! Please join us in welcoming Haniyeh QahriSaremi, who brings a wealth of experience and a passion for technology that we know will greatly benefit our clients.
Haniyeh has a unique background that combines extensive experience in the banking industry with a deep understanding of IT systems. We are confident that her skills and enthusiasm will provide exceptional support and customer service to all of our clients.
Here’s a little Q&A session to help you get to know Haniyeh a little better:
Tell us a little about your background in IT. How did you get started?
My journey into IT wasn't conventional. I started in banking, where I was surrounded by inefficiencies---processes that could be faster, smarter, better. That's what pushed me toward technology. I wanted to understand how systems worked, how data could be optimized, and how technology could transform businesses. So, I moved to the U.S. and pursued my master's in computer information systems. It was like stepping into a whole new world---one where I wasn't just observing problems but solving them.
What drew you to this role at ViaTek?
Technology is at its best when it makes life easier for people. That's what drew me to ViaTek---the opportunity to provide real solutions, help businesses operate smoothly, and make technology feel less intimidating for clients. Also, I love problem-solving, and IT support is a field where every day brings a new challenge. It's like solving a mystery with every ticket!
What's one tech problem you love solving for clients?
Oh, the classic "Why is my system running so slow?" question! It sounds simple, but there are so many layers to it---hardware, software, network issues, user behavior. I love digging into it, finding the root cause, and watching the relief on a client's voice when everything runs smoothly again.
Are there any IT trends or emerging technologies that excite you?
AI is revolutionizing the industry, and I'm fascinated by its potential. From predictive analytics to cybersecurity advancements, AI is making technology smarter and more intuitive. I also love how automation streamlines IT processes---it's like giving businesses a superpower.
If you could give one piece of IT advice to our clients, what would it be?
Cybersecurity is not just an IT issue---it's a business issue. Don't wait for a breach to happen before taking action. Invest in proactive security measures, educate your team, and always have a backup plan. In the digital world, prevention is always better (and cheaper!) than recovery.
What's your go-to "fun fact" about yourself?
I have a deep admiration for penguins. Their collaborative nature and resilience in harsh environments inspire me, reflecting qualities I strive to embody both personally and professionally.
If you could have dinner with any famous person (tech-related or not), who would it be and why?
Alan Turing. The man was not only a genius but also a visionary ahead of his time. I'd love to pick his brain about AI, computing, and how he sees the world today.
What's the most unusual or funniest tech issue you've ever encountered?
Once, a client reported that their computer wasn't powering on. After thorough troubleshooting, we discovered that the power strip was switched off. It was a lighthearted reminder of the importance of checking the basics.
When you're not working on IT, what hobbies or activities do you enjoy?
I love reading, walking, and finding the best coffee spots in town. There's something about being in nature that clears my mind, especially after a long day of troubleshooting.
Coffee or tea? And how do you take it?
Both! Coffee in the morning, black and strong. Tea in the evening, preferably Persian saffron tea with a little honey.
What's your favorite piece of tech from sci-fi or pop culture?
Iron Man's AI assistant, J.A.R.V.I.S. Imagine having an AI that organizes your life, and solves problems. That's the dream.
If you could live in any video game, movie, or TV show universe, which one would you pick and why?
The Matrix---but only if I get to be one of the cool hackers who bends reality.
What was your first computer or piece of tech that got you into IT?
A Pentium III computer back in the early 2000s. It was slow, outdated, and perfect for breaking apart and learning how things worked.
If you had to explain your job using only a GIF or meme, what would it be?
"What did you do to your computer?" moments!

What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
"Don't let fear decide your future." Moving to a new country, switching careers, and chasing big dreams, it's all scary. But fear is temporary. Regret is forever.
If you could swap jobs with anyone for a day, who would it be and why?
A cybersecurity analyst at the FBI. It's my dream job, and I'd love to see what a day in that role is like!
What's your go-to guilty pleasure TV show, movie, or book?
I'd say The Great Gatsby. It's a story of ambition, resilience, and the pursuit of dreams---things I deeply relate to in my own journey. Gatsby's unwavering determination, despite the challenges he faces, resonates with me as someone who has chased big goals, adapted to new environments, and worked tirelessly to turn aspirations into reality. It's a reminder that dreams are powerful, but they need the right foundation to truly succeed.
If you had an unlimited budget to build your dream home office or gaming setup, what would it include?
Oh, I'd go all out---First, I'd get a massive, ultra-wide curved monitor setup, so I feel like I'm living inside my work. Then, the ultimate ergonomic chair (because comfort is key when you're solving IT puzzles for hours). A custom-built PC with top-tier specs and some ridiculously cool RGB lighting---because let's be real, the colors make everything feel more high-tech. I'd have a voice-controlled smart system to adjust lighting and temperature with a simple command, noise-canceling speakers for deep-focus work, and---this is crucial---a hidden snack drawer. A workspace isn't complete without emergency dark chocolate.
We are excited to have Haniyeh on board and look forward to the positive impact she will have on our team and our clients. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out!
Best,
