A Brief History of Upslope Brewing Company

Upslope Brewing Company is a Boulder, Colorado-based brewing company that was founded in 2008. The company has two locations in Boulder - one in Flatiron Park and one in Lee Hill - and distributes its beer to bars and restaurants throughout the state of Colorado. Upslope's core lineup includes four year-round beers - Pale Ale, India Pale Ale, Brown Ale, and Craft Lager - as well as a rotating selection of seasonal and limited release beers.

Upslope Brewing Company was founded in 2008 by Matt Cutter and Dany Pages. The two friends had been homebrewing together for several years and decided to turn their hobby into a business. They started out with a small seven-barrel brewing system and three fermenters, and brewed their beer in the basement of Cutter's house. In 2009, they moved into a 1,500 square foot space in Boulder's Flatiron Park neighborhood and increased their brewing capacity to ten barrels.

Since then, Upslope has experienced rapid growth. In 2010, they added four more fermenters and a canning line. The following year, they opened a second location in Boulder's Lee Hill neighborhood. 2012 saw the addition of eight more fermenters, a cold storage warehouse, and an expanded taproom at the Flatiron Park location. And in 2013, Upslope became the first brewery in Colorado to can all of its beer. Today, Upslope Brewing Company employs over 40 people and produces over 10,000 barrels of beer per year.
